Formulas - answer as a %
Hello
If I have two figures say 800 at basic and then 768 actual cost, I know that we have been given a 4% discount. If I create a new column what is the formula used to = 4% from the basic to actual?
Many thanks
Paul
RE: Formulas - answer as a %
Hi Paul
Thank you for your question.
The formula to give you the 4% would be =1-actual cost/basic
(replacing actual cost and basic with the references for the cells these figures are in).
This should give you 0.04. If you format the cell at a percentage, then it will display as 4%.
I hope this helps.
Amanda
