Password protection on spreadsheet

how do i protect my spreadsheet and all the data from others who might have access to my work

RE: password protection on spreadsheet

Hello Jane

Thank you for your question.

You can apply a password to open a file, which you can do by going to File - Save as, then clicking the Tools button and select General Options.

You will then have an option to set up a password to open the file.

Otherwise you can set up protection that won't stop people from opening the file, but will stop them from editing your a worksheet.

On the worksheet you wish to protect, go to Tools - Protection - Protect Sheet, and then set up a password for the protection if you wish.

Protection has to be applied on a sheet-by-sheet basis.

Kind regards
Amanda

Excel tip:

Change the Value of a Constant

When using a named constant in a worksheet, you may wish to change the value of that constant.

From the 'Insert' menu, select 'Name', then select 'Define'.

In the 'Define Name' dialog box, select the constant that you want to change.
Change the value in the 'Refers To' box.
Click OK.

Wherever that named constant has been used it will now use its new value.
