Now function

When would this be most useful

RE: Now function

Hi Judith

Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.

The =NOW() function itself provides the current date and time, when the cell it is entered into is formatted correctly.

You may or may not find it useful depending on what you are using Excel to do, but for example it could be used as part of a longer formula to figure out the number of hours and minutes that had passed/lapsed between two different times entered into a spreadsheet.

Kind regards
Amanda

Excel tip:

Quickly hide and unhide rows and columns

Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+9 to hide selected rows and Ctrl+0 to hide selected columns. The good thing about this shortcut is that you do not need to select entire rows or columns. For example, select B3:D3 then press Ctrl+0 to hide columns B to D.

Ctrl+Shift+9 unhides rows and Ctrl+Shift+0 unhides columns.
