Goal seek and solver
Pls explain the main differences between goal seeker and solver
RE: goal seek and solver
Hi Jon
The main difference between the two is:
Goal seek allows you to achieve a known result by changing only ONE variable in the equation. eg:
(A3+A4) * A5/A6 = 375
If the answer is changed to 496 how will it change the value of cell A4
In Solver the same premise applies however you can change multiple cell values and even put in criteria
Hope this helps
Carlos

Excel tip:Convert Text to Columns in Excel 2010If you have a cell in your Excel spreadsheet that contains a lot of text and you want to divide it into separate columns, this can only be done if there is a logical character which separates the text, for example, a comma. |
