If using filters, will creating views mean that the filters that were applied when the view was created will be applied subsequently when that vew is selected?

Hi Craig,

Thank you for your question. Yes, when the view is applied it will re-do the filter for you.

If you have used Autofilter on columns of data and have found 10 results, then you create a view and name it, every time you apply that view, it will autofilter the same criteria and show the same results.

Excel tip:

Autonumber in Excel

To create an autonumber field, can use the Offset() function.

In cell A1, enter the number 1.
Then in cell A2, enter this formula:

=OFFSET(A2,-1,0)+1

Then copy the formula from cell A2, down as far as you need.
