When you have different data items that you represent in a chart and you have multiple versions of this chart where not all data items in the legend appear, how can you make sure that every data item (e.g. the name of a country) is represented in the chart in the same colour? E.g. US is always green, UK always yellow,... (even though the UK or US do not appear in each chart; the colours seem to be chosen randomly each time you do a chart with the same data)

Are you referring to charts created by selecting data and using Insert - Chart; or a PivotChart?

I think I had the problem when doing pivot charts.
but I would be interested in the solution in both cases.
