Pivot Tables
Within a pivot table is there any easy way to format all the numbers so they format doesn't always revert back to standard every time the pivot table is refreshed
RE: Pivot Tables - Formatting numbers
Dear James
Thank you for attending Excel Adv course. I hope you enjoyed the course and benefited from it.
Once you have created a pivot table then you simply right-click on any of the cell containing the number and choose number format...
Choose the currency from the list and the decimal places you want.
Press OK.
All the cells with numbers will be currency format.
Please remember that Pivot table is interactive where the fields can be moved around therefore as soon as you remove the field from the pivot table and drag and drop the same field it reverts back to the general number formatting i.e. the currency formatting is lost.
The best thing to do is once you got the numbers then select all the cells in the pivot table and right-click on the cells and choose Format cells... and then choose currency and press OK.
The problem with this is that if in the future you are trying to count certain data it will be formatting as currency.
I hope this has answered your query.
If this has answered your query then I would request you to please mark the question as resolved!! If not and you have a specific question related to this then please post it as a new question and we should be able to provide you the solution for it!!
Kindest Regards
