if you forget the password after you've protected a worksheet is there any way to alter the data. If not do you have any suggestions of keeping password names with workbooks better 9e.g. if there a template already stored to retain this info easily

Now if you forget your password after you have protected your sheet, you dont really have many options, apart from contacting IT to try and find out the password for you
They should be able to do it for you.
As for keeping passwords i keep them in a little book that i always carry round with me but dont tell other work people about - but sorry James that all i can suggest
