BODMAS is just a made up word to help you remember the order of calculation. It stands for
Brackets
Of
Division
Multiplication
Addition
Subtraction
Following the above you must first multiply before adding. This means that
7+3*5 = 22 and NOT 50.
For it to equal 50, you must add the 7 and 3 first, so it would be written as
(7+3)*5
