Excel Graph - Year Axis

I have line graphs that plot monthly data over a number of years. However when you select the major unit to be in years it puts the axis line at the mid point of that year and not at the beginning. Is there any easy way to get these graphs to always put the axis lines at the start of the year?

RE: Excel Graph - Year Axis

Hello Daniel

Thank you for your question.

In this case it might be easier if you send in the spreadsheet or an example like it so we can have a look - we can't necessarily guarantee that we will be able to resolve this but will do the best we can.

Please email to infoATstl-training.co.uk for the attention of Amanda.

Thank you.

Hi Dan

I kind of have a solution but it

RE: Excel Graph - Year Axis

Thanks for your help Amanda. I actually discovered a better resolution to clarify such graphs. It's slightly different to what I had requested in the question but in many ways it makes more sense.

If you request that it displays the information Yearly rather than Monthly then the display puts the gridlines in the middle of the years. If you then change the number from just a year to 'mmm yyyy' or some other format it will display the data yearly will lines marked with the month and year beginning when your data starts and marking every full year since. For example; Apr 2005, Apr 2006, Apr 2007 etc.

It's not the start of the year but for most graphs, including mine, this is actually a more logical solution than having the lines at the start of the year.

Thanks again for your help.

Dan
