RE: Filter
Hello Vinay,
Hope you enjoyed your Microsoft Access course with BEST Training.
Thank you for your question regarding Filters.
The short answer to your question is YES, you can do it.
Lets lok at thwat you are asking.
Firstly, you would need to import the records to a TABLE.
What I suggest you then do is the following:
1. Open a new form in Design View, and make sure it is connected to the table that contains the Company details.
2. Drag the COMPANY NAME field onto the form.
Preview the form to see the field in action. You should be able to then filter this by using the FILTER menu bar, or the FIND option (Ctrl+F).
Save and close this form.
3. Design or locate the form that diplays all the company data. Make a not of its name, becuase we are going to link the other form to it with a COMMAND BUTTON.
4. Go back to your orginal form that has only the COMPANY NAME field on it.
5.Add a COMMAND BUTTON to the form, and when the wizard starts, then choose FORM OPERATIONS > OPEN FORM.
6. Choose the Form you want to open (Full company detail form). Click NEXT.
7. Now select "Open the forma and find specific records"
click Next.
8. Map the field from you first column to the corresponding field (Company name) in the second column. Click Next
9. Choose the image or text you want on the button
Click next
10. Test drive your form and see if it does what you want it to do.
Essentially, what we have done here is to use one form as a lookup / filter, and then opening another form to display all the details.
I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.
If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?
Have a great day.
