Extra column with plus signs and ID is 02 after 99

A user of my database at work showed me the main table in datasheet view and it now has an extra column with + signs against every record and the ID field goes to 99 then each record has ID of 02 after that, it should go to 100, 101 and so on.

RE: Extra column with plus signs and ID is 02 after 99

Hi Mark

By the sounds of it you have a subdatasheet (covered in Access Intermediate Course) in your main table and if you click on the + you will find related records to your IDs.

Also if your IDs are set to Auto Number then your ID would be 100, 101. The fact that you are getting a "02" after each record woud suggest that your Id is not set as your primary field because there are duplications in ID field and default property for the field maybe set to "02". Otherwise hard to say without seeing full database structure.

Hope this has shed some light on the issue. Thanks you for using BEST Training Support Forum. Remeber your collegues, friends and family are invited to use our forum as well.

RE: Extra column with plus signs and ID is 02 after 99

Thank you Tom, it is resolved now. I think I may have had a link to another table as an experiment then deleted (or something like that). Anyway I over-wrote the first 02 after the 99 as 100 and the rest of the 02s changed to 101, 102 etc--relief!

Access tip:

Convert A Form Into A Report

If there is a form that you want to to save as a report:

1. Open that form in Design View
2. Select File and Save As
3. In the Save As Dialog box Select Report

The system creates a report based on the form.
