Printing Project
I have set up my task names and 'ticked' the box to include outline numbers on my Gantt Chart. These now appear but when I print the chart the outline numbers are omitted and only the task text is is printed in the column?
RE: Printing Project
Hi Bill
Thank you for your question
On the face of it, you seem to have done nothing obviously wrong and the outline numbers should appear in the task name column.
One suggestion would be to add the outline number to the Gantt chart as a seperate column. This should then print out. To do this right click on the task name column and select insert column. In the field combo box select "outline number"
If this doesn't work, or if you feel it innapropriate; then I suggest you email me the file at stephenATstl-training.co.uk so I can investigate more fully
Regards
Stephen
RE: Printing Project
I have read your reply and tried to sent a copy of the project to stephenATstl-training.co.uk but my Outlook will not recognise this as a legitimate e-mail address, is there an alternative?
RE: Printing Project
Hi Bill
The word AT in the email address should be replced with @ as in a normal email address. I wrote it like that for security reasons.

Stephen

Stephen, did you receive a copy of Bill's file as discussed above?

RE: Printing Project
Hi Bill
One other thing to try (with regards to tracking down what might be causing the problem) would be to create a new temporary project with one task in it. Turn on outline numbers ( Tools > options > view tab then tick show outline numbers) and do a test print to see if the numbers print on a different file. Also if you have access to MS Project on another machine repeat the test on that version of Project. These tests mean we can then rule out any problems with the Project document or the software.
Let us know how it works out.
Kind regards,
Andrew
