Matching data

If you have 2 colums of data ( Numbers), and you need to identify the diffenrences betweeb column a and B, and all you need to see are the changes. Is there a way Excel can run down column A look for a match in column B, and list those that do not match between columns a&B

RE: Matching data

Hi Gerald

Thank you for your question; and welcome to the forum.

You can use an IF function to compare a number in one column with a number in another column, then display what the difference between the two numbers is if there is one.

I've attached an example for you to have a look at - you are welcome to reply with your comments. Chances are if you are looking for something which is more complex it would require VBA programming which is outside of the scope of the Excel Advanced course.

Kind regards
Amanda

Excel tip:

Remove unused toolbar buttons

Are there buttons on your Excel toolbars that you never use? Remove them from the toolbar by doing the following:

1. Go to Tools - Customise - Commands.
2. Select the toolbar button you wish to remove, then use your mouse to drag and drop the button into the Excel window. When you release your finger from the mouse, the button will disappear.
