Will upgrades to 2007 be any better/worseq

RE: MS Project

Better !!!

RE: MS Project

Dear Paul,

The 2007 version of MS Project offers some significant improvements. I cannot cover all of them but here are a six key benefits:

1.Multiple levels of undo for the first time

2.Task Drivers feature - identify which tasks influence the scheduling of the selected task.

3.Change indicators - if you change a task, task values (typically Dates) affected by the change are highlighted in the tabular element of the Gantt Chart View.

4.Cost Resources - instead of trying to allow for incurred costs in the fixed cost field you can now create cost resources for things like travel, accommodation etc and assign them to tasks along with a cost and then review their total cost in a project when viewing the Summary Table in the Resource Sheet view.

5.Cell Formatting - you can now select cells in the Tabular element of the Gantt Chart View and apply a higlight or pattern to make it stand out in your list.

6.Visual Reports - these can take data from your schedule and create grpahical representations of key project data, graphical presentation of info can have more impact than reams and reams of data.

There are further significant improvements in the EPM Project Server solution as well. I hope this helps.

Happy scheduling

Dominic
