Charting

How to chart bar charts with data that varies eg one variable has large number eg in 100 of thousands & the other variable has decimals & you want to format the scale to see both?

RE: Charting

Hi Leon

Thank you for your question; and welcome to the forum.

If you wish to represent both the numbers and decimals as columns in the chart, then this isn't easy.

There is a work around that you can try by modifying the data that the chart is created from, which is outlined on the following web page:
http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/ColumnsOnTwoAxes.html

I would recommend using the Chart toolbar to select the series that aren't visible rather than using the keyboard to do this (View>Toolbar>Chart).

The primary and secondary axes referred to can be accessed by selecting the series you wish to work with, and clicking the Format Data Series button which is the first button from the left on the Chart Toolbar. You will find that there is an Axis tab within the options presented.

Good luck!
Amanda
