Making a Cell Absolute
I need to make a particular cell absolute before I can use the Nestedif function effectively - please can you tell me the steps again. Thanks.
RE: Making a Cell Absolute
Hi Francis
Thank you for your question; and welcome to the forum.
You can make a cell into an absolute reference by doing either of the following:
1. If you are in the process of putting the formula together, then once you have clicked on the cell to enter it into the formula, press the function F4 key immediately afterwards. This will put $ signs in front of the column letter and row number of the cell for you.
2. If you have already put the formula together, you can select the cell that contains the formula, then click next to the cell you wish to make into an absolute reference in the formula bar at the top of the screen. Then press the function F4 key to introduce the $ signs.
I hope this helps.
Amanda
