What is the best way to lay out when printing so text isn't too big or small
RE: printing excel
Hi Clare
Thank you for your question; and welcome to the forum.
Tools that you can use when printing spreadsheets:
1. If the spreadsheet in question would print out just over one page (i.e. a small bit of the spreadsheet prints on a second page) then you could try the Scaling option in Page Setup (File - Page Setup - Page then choose Fit to 1 page wide by 1 page tall).
2. Alternatively go to Print Preview, click the Margins button at the top of the screen and then drag the margins to make them smaller (thereby fitting more on the first page).
3. If the spreadsheet will need to print on more than one page (otherwise it will print out being impossible to read if you scale the printing).
a. Use a combination of Print titles (under File - Page Setup - Sheet) to select any rows or columns of information that you wish to have repeated at the top and/or side of each page.
b. Use View - Page Break Preview to bring up your page breaks on screen, then you can use your mouse to adjust the position of page breaks so that you can control which data prints on which page. Be aware that this may adjust the scaling automatically for you, which you may then have to play with afterwards so that you can still read the data when the pages print.
I hope this helps.
Amanda
