MS Project / Outlook
Would like to know if it can be linked to MS Outlook. Can delegated tasks be sent to people or put in your calenders?
RE: MS Project / Outlook
Hi Richard
Project can import tasks from your Outlook (take a look at tools > import Outlook tasks) but there is no link as such so a change in Project is not replicated in Outlook or vice verse.
It's probably safest to say that from Project 2003 onwards emailing from within Project isn't really supported. Microsoft do have a download for a feature called Project 2003 Work group Message Handler which can add the ability to send emails and receive updates but it's not supported and will not be continued by Microsoft in newer versions of Project.
You can find out more on the Microsoft site - take a look at:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=6382C615-1090-452C-8EBA-4025B8976C18& ;displaylang=en
The alternative would to introduce Project Server to the environment which does allow Outlook integration through the Project Server website (Project Web Access)
I hope this is helpful - do let us know if you would like further assistance.
Kind regards,
Andrew
