How do I create a rollover image?

RE: rollover images

Hi Hayley,

Hope you enjoyed your Dreamweaver training yesterday.

First you need to create the graphics in a graphic application such as Fireworks, Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.

You should create/save the 'static' button, then make your change for the 'hover' effect and save a different graphic. It's a good idea to have the state of the image in the filename, and also what text is included in the graphic. eg. products-static.jpg and products-hover.jpg

You can now insert the graphics using Insert -> Interactive Image -> Rollover Image. Follow the dialogue box instructions, browsing to your newly created images at the appropriate places.

I hope this answers your question. If it does, please mark this question as resolved.

Regards, Rich

Dreamweaver tip:

Testing a site

When developing a site, you have to cater to the widest possible audience allowing for users with different browsers and display settings.
Test pages to see how they look with:

- different display resolutions
- browser with graphics turned off
- many different browsers not just IE
- if possible different operating systems.
