How do you add a password to a split database?

Password on a Split Database

Hi Anna

Although you can add a password to the backend of a split database, I suggest suggest you split the database and then add the password to each of the front ends.

To add a password to a database:

1. Open the database as Exclusive (Select the database. In the Open dialog box Drop down the open button and select Open Exclusive

2. In the Ribbon, under Database Tools select Encrypt with Password and set the password

Hope this helps

Carlos

Access tip:

Copy a Previous Record's Values to a New Record

If you often enter the same value in one field of a table, there are two methods to save re-typing the data.

1. Use Ctrl+' (apostrophe) to repeat the value input in the previous record.

2. Change the field's DefaultValue property in Design View to the most commonly used value.
