If you base a query on a form, and you change the query why does it not reflect in the form? How can this be done?

RE: Queries and Forms updating

Dear Melissa

Thank you for attending Access Introduction course. I hope you enjoyed the course and found it useful.

You can create a query from existing tables or queries but not from Forms. You can create a form from existing tables or Queries. Please remember that Forms are just a pleasant way of viewing and entering your data. It is mainly used for Screen Input purposes.

If you create a query from a table and then decide to create a form based on that Query you will get all the records that meet the specific criteria in that query. If you, however, change the criteria in the original query and reopen the Form the No. of records will automatically be updated.

I have uploaded an Access file. Please note that I have create a Query called

Access tip:

Dsum

You can create percentage values based on individual products / items by using a Dsum function (used with a grouped query)

[Each value column] / Dsum[field:total for the column needed to be calculated],[tablename]
