Hi Vicky, Thank your for your post, Welcome to the forum, in answer to your question, first off a circular reference is where the cell which you wish to have your answer in is contained in the formula or function, to resolve the problem you will have to redo your formula or function so that the cell reference is not mentioned in it. You will get a whole heap of directions from Excel if you do create a circular reference, but to resolve the problem in the easiest and quickest way follow the steps above. best regards Pete
