how do i do it quickly?

how can i ensure that the graphcs don't make a simple worksheet/invoice into a massive file?

RE: Importing patterns and logos into worksheets

Hi Lionel,

The quickest way is to copy and paste the image into Excel. For example, go to your web site, right click the image and choose 'copy image' (or similar). Now go to Excel and press Control+V or Edit -> Paste. You can now move the picture around using the mouse (click and drag) and also resize using the mouse on the 'handles' on the corners and sides of the image.

You can also open an image in Windows using most image editors (eg. Paint, Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop), and copy to the clipboard from there.

See also: Insert menu -> Picture.

If you're worried about compression issues (making your files smaller), in Excel, right click the picture and choose 'Show picture toolbar' (if it's not already shown). Then hover over the buttons until you find 'Compress Pictures'. Now follow the dialogue box instructions for tips on compressing your pictures. Normally the pictures will decrease in quality if you require a lower file size.

I hope this helps.

Regards, Rich

Excel tip:

Customize the toolbar in Excel 2010

You can create your own toolbar which contains your favourite or most used tools. This will make using Excel much more efficient. To do this, you need to click on View, then select Customize Quick access Toolbars and then select Customize. A list of tools will then appear on the screen of which you can add or remove them as you please.
