How do you know when to use the advanced filter?

RE: Advanced Filter

Hi Hayley

Hope you enjoyed your course

As for your question there are two types of advanced filters 1. from the drop down lists i.e. custom filters, this will let you filter to one thing or another

this one is used to extract your filtered info to another place i.e. to another sheet or another location on your sheet

A. you want to view certain data from parts of you data table

B. If you want to view a couple of things from your data table
i.e. to regions north & west

C. you want to extract your data from one sheet to another

Excel tip:

Editing Formulas in Excel Cells

Although people like to edit a formula in the Formula bar, you can also edit a formula in the cell.

To do this select the cell and press "F2". This puts Excel into Edit mode, and you can move around in the cell and make any necessary changes.

Double-clicking the cell also puts Excel in Edit mode.
