Monitoring Progress

Is the main idea of MS Project that it is used just for planning projects, or is it perfectly acceptable to tweak the times it is ACTUALLY taking to complete tasks if your original estimates were not accurate?

RE: Monitoring Progress

Hi Alix

Thank You for your question

Project is as much a project tracking tool as it is a project planning tool, and it is very much acceptable to alter your actual times to reflect changes.

Once you have baselined the project, it is assumed that any changes you make reflect what is actually happening in the real world, and project will reflect in the tracking Gantt these changes and how they have affected the project's progress.

Regards

Stephen

MS Project tip:

Format individual bars on your GANTT chart

To draw attention to a bar on your Gantt chart simply double click it. From the dialogue box that opens make your selection of text and bar modifications.
