When creating a chart, with a time, value and product dimensions, the wizard creates the third demension as a "series 1,2,3" - how do you rename "series" to reflect third dimension in the legend. Is there no edit function for a graph legend?

RE: excel

Hi Jennifer

Hope you enjoyed the course on Tuesday

in related to your question it is possible to name the series
what you need to do is go to the chart menu and choose source data then in the second tab for series you can name them there

you can also use cells for the name that are pre-created, by highlighting the cells and using them

This should solve it for you

Excel tip:

Autonumber in Excel

To create an autonumber field, can use the Offset() function.

In cell A1, enter the number 1.
Then in cell A2, enter this formula:

=OFFSET(A2,-1,0)+1

Then copy the formula from cell A2, down as far as you need.
