Is it possible to updated workbooks which are linked automatically
RE: Updating Workbooks 2007 Excel
Dear Judith
Thank you for attending Excel 2007 Intermediate Course. I hope you enjoyed the training.
I may need a bit more clarification before answering this question.
If your question was more related to automatic updating of the linked files then please remember that when two files are linked to each other then they get updated automatically.
The file that contains the link is known as Destination file and the File that contains the original data is known as the source file. When you make any changes to the source file the data on the destination file gets updated automatically.
To link two files together the quickest and easiest way is to ensure that both the source and the destination file are open.
Step 1: Click on the cell in the destination file.
Step 2: Press = on the Keyboard
Step 3: Click on the Source file on the Task Bar.
Step 4: Click on the sheet and the cell that you wish to link.
As Excel 2007 is quite secure therefore when you open the destination file you may get a security message just above the Formula bar stating the automatic update of links has been disabled.
You can click on the options button and choose enable this content
If you want to make a global change then you can:
Step 1: Click the [b]options
