Comparite - Comparing data

Comparite is a term used mainly in the legal profession for comparing either documents or data in spreadsheets.

In Excel, data in worksheets can be compared by using the View ribbon in version 2007 or 2010. First, open the workbook and select the sheet you wish to compare. Then click New Window, then click View Side by Side. Use the Arrange All button to change from say vertical to horizontal.

In the second window choose which sheet you wish to use for comparison purposes and have a wonderful time scrolling all over to make those comparisons you so desperately need to get done! Don't forget, synchronous scrolling is switched on by default and can be turned off if required.

Once you are done, close the second window and you are ready for the next time you need to do this!
