Flashing cells in Excel 2010

There are many reasons why someone may want to have cells flashing in Excel.

For example, suppose you are working to a very strict budget on your expenses account and wish to indicate by means of a flashing cell when the variance is either above or below a certain parameter. You would have to create some code in the Visual Basic Editor using either a Select Case statement or a For Next loop with If functions.

Set your parameters within the code and also the change to the interior colour (this usually works best) rather than the font colour. Changing from White to Red then back to White for negative results usually works well. For positive results, if required, starting from White then to Green then back to White does a great job.

Remember when using the word 'colour' in the code you must use the American spelling of 'color'.
