Business Requirement

Annually Sirona hold a week long conference for Country/Territory Managers incorporating training on a specific theme. This year the theme was Presentation skills which included MS PowerPoint and a training provider had been selected to deliver 2 days of training.

STL were asked by Sirona to provide a replacement trainer after their original supplier withdrew at the eleventh hour. STL ensured a trainer was available at Sironas Global HQ in Salzburg, Austria.

Microsoft PowerPoint is used by management in various sales and marketing activities including exhibitions and client facing meetings.

A number of needs were identified including:

• Greater understanding of the Office 2007 Ribbon
• How best to use Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 to make the current presentations more visually appealing
• Understand how the Slide Master works
• Creating, Editing and Using Templates
• An overview of how Databases are created using MS Access
• Training should be based on Sirona PowerPoint Presentation Templates

Solution

Working closely with Sirona a tailored training package was produced:

• Two One day sessions on Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 for two groups of six
• The content mainly focused on Slide Masters and the creation of Templates
• Overview of Creating Access Databases

Benefits

• Small groups enabled plenty of time for delegates questions
• Training kept highly relevant by using actual working slides and photos from current Sirona presentations.
• Opportunity for delegates to demonstrate that they really understood the benefits of the Slide Master and Templates by discussing which current slides could be used as part of a new Sirona Presentation Template
