with 07, when validating formulas across two different sheets, where do the arrows point

RE: formulas

Hello Peter

Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.

When using the Trace Precedents or Trace Dependents buttons for formula auditing purposes, you will find that if a formula refers to a cell (or cells) located on another sheet, an arrow with a small spreadsheet icon will appear (instead of the blue or red arrows you usually see).

If you hold your mouse anywhere along the dashed line ending in the arrow, then double-click, the Go To dialogue box will appear so you can select the cell that is being referred to and then click OK to go to the cell.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards
Amanda

Excel tip:

Copying Formulae Quickly

There is a quicker way of copying a formula down a column.

Just point and double click on the black autofill handle in the right hand corner of a cell.

This will work providing you have some data in the column to the left of the column.
