how do you change the fields in a pivot table without knowing the data field's exact name?
Hi Jonathan
I'm not too sure what you mean by this but, When a pivot table is created the headings found in the first row of the table are taken by Excel to be the Field Names and placed in the Pivot Table's Field Name List.
So by draging these names onto the Pivot table it will produce the required results
Hope this helps

Excel tip:Conditional formatting for cells that return text , not picked up by Go to commandIf you have tried to format all cells containing text even those that display text as a result of a formula you may have had difficulty. As Go to command with constant selected does not pick up formulas that result in text. |
