Thank you Rich for your previous answer.
I'd like no to know what order to make the transition to Dreamweaver 8 and XHTML Transitional. What I think I should do is this - go to Dreamweaver 8, then define the site, and download tehpages from the website. Do I need to make any settings in DW8 for this to happen properly?
The I propose to take the template page and do the file conversion on that page first which will then update all my pages automatically. Then I will have to go through each page to do the file conversion to ensure all the tags in the Editable Region are changed also. Is this the right way to proceed, or shall I do the conversion in dreanweaver MX 2004 first and then start to use Dreamweaver 8?
Thanks so much for your help - it is really good to have your expereice on the end of an email like this!
Sara
Hi Sara,
It shouldn't make any difference, but personally I would go to Dreamweaver 8 first, because the 'convert to XHTML' command could be improved in DW8.
But yes, I'd follow the procedures you outlines, converting the template first, then each individual file. You may find that DW8 automatically converts each individual file when it does the template update, but I'm not sure on this.
Don't forget to backup everything first!!! Keep it separate in case anything goes wrong.
Good luck.

Dreamweaver tip:JumpMenu in new windowWhen inserting a jumpmenu to a page, the only option available for 'open in' is usually 'main window'. There would be other options available if the page was a frameset.
