Moving a complete project without miss placing tasks
Hi Paul
You can use the adjust dates control in Project to move your tasks without risking leaving items behind.
From the View menu choose Toolbars and select the analysis toolbar. Click on the Adjust Dates button and enter the new start date of your project.
Project runs a macro that repositions each of your tasks in relation to the date you specified. This works best in the planning phase before tasks have any progress assigned to them.
I hope this helps,
Kind regards,
Andrew

MS Project tip:Avoid Accidental ConstraintsThe initial default table is the Entry table. Enter a task name and duration, but do not enter start or finish dates. Form the plan using links, predecessors. Typing dates introduces constraints. To remove these constraints, double click on a task, and on the Advanced page of Task Information set the constraint back to As Soon As Possible (all other options are there too.) |
