How do I use the drawing shapes etc facility in Word?

RE: Word Functions

Hi Rachel, Thank you for your post, In answer to your question, Ensure that your Drawing Toolbar is switched on, it normally resides at the foot of the screen above the Status bar. Click the option for AutoShapes and a menu will appear, from the menu choose your category, from the category choose your chosen shape and then in the document drag to create the shape, once the shape has been created, if you wish you can change it to a text box by simply clicking in it and typing your text. You can fill the shape by selecting it and from the drawing toolbar selecting a colour from the pallett or from the Fill Effects option, a host of other selection types. To change the shape, Select Draw from the Drawing toolbar and in the menu choose Change AutoShape, follow the sequence above to select your new shape. I hope that helps, best regards Pete.

Word tip:

Closing all your documents Quickly

Hold the SHIFT key down and using the mouse click on the file menu, it will now now CLOSE ALL rather than close. This closes all documents down but still leaves the application open.
