Editing a numbered list which has not been formatted with autom

I have a numbered list which has not used automatic numbering how can I change it so that the numbering is automatic.

RE: Editing a numbered list which has not been formatted with au

Hi Emma

Thank you for your question.

If the list has already been created without automatic numbering, you need to apply the numbering and delete the numbers that have been typed in.

Select the items that have been manually numbered and click the Numbering button on the Formatting toolbar. Then remove the numbers that were typed in.

Word tip:

Keeping words together in the same line

Word will automatically wrap text itself to create new lines.

You can force Word to keep words together when they are separated by either spaces or hyphens by creating non-breaking spaces or non-breaking hyphens.

To create a non-breaking space, use Ctrl + Shift in conjunction with pressing the spacebar.

To create a non-breaking hyphen, use Ctrl + Shift in conjunction with pressing the hyphen key.

Non-breaking spaces or hyphens will not split between lines.
