In answer to your question to create a link between workbooks you will need to create a formula which requires information from the source workbook to be displayed in the destination workbook; the easiest method of creating this link is to use a simple formula which just asks Excel to display the contents of the source cell, to do this; in the destination workbook, select the cell you wish to link and press the equals key (=) then navigate to the source workbook and select the cell you wish to use, Press the Enter key and Excel will insert the contents of the Source cell.
The formula bar will reflect the Workbook and tab names, if the Source workbook is closed, the formula bar will also indicate the file path, hope that helps, regards Pete.
