Hi Patricia, Thanks for the post and welcome to our forum, you can use the forum to ask any question in any of the programs in Microsoft Office, right up to Advanced level.
In answer to your question; the difference between Endnotes and Footnotes is: a Footnote will appear at the bottom of the page, just above the Footer area, whereas an Endnote will appear at the end of the Document. You can have Footnotes on every page, these can be sequentially numbered on individual pages or throughout the document. Both Endnotes and Footnotes can also have symbols rather than numbers if you wish. Hope that answers your post, please feel free to ask a question whenever you need to. Best Regards Pete

Numbering your pages in Word 2010 - Starting with 1 on a different page

If you want to number your pages and have number 1 on a different page than the first page, here's what you do:

1) Add a section break before the page where you want to begin numbering.
2) Click at the beginning of the page where you want to begin numbering.
3) On the Page Layout tab, click Breaks.
4) Under Section Breaks, click Next Page
5) Double-click in the header area or the footer area which will open the Header and Footer tab
6) Under Tools, click Link to Previous to turn it off
7) Follow the on-screen instructions
