What are cross-references?

RE: word

Hi Luiza,

Cross-references in Word documents are used if you need to link two sections of text together.

An example of using Corss-reference is to link a keyword of a paragraph with a section which is related to it.

1) Select end of the keyword
2) INSERT menu > Reference > Cross-Reference
3) [REFERENCE TYPE:] box, drop down the list to search for the related section
[INSERT REFERENCE TO:] box, drop down to select how you want to display the text for this reference.
4) Press Insert
5) You can SKIP to the related section by clicking on the hyperlink text.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Katie

Word tip:

Shortcut keys for creating tables

There are shortcut keys you can use in Word in order to create tables.

Simply typing +-+ (plus symbol, minus symbol then plus symbol without any spaces between them), then pressing Enter creates one cell in a table.

So for example, if you require a table with three columns you would type +-+ three times with no gaps and press Enter.

Need more rows? Just click in the last cell in the table and press the Tab key.
