David has attended:
Project Introduction course
Our organisation has a lot of projects that have overlapping tasks or tasks that start at the same time and we allocate people to work on multiple tasks at the same time. This is possible for them to manage within their daily work but I keep getting over allocation errors. Is there a way I can allocate them to work on multiple tasks at the same time?
Thanks
Hi David,
Project has a very literal view on resourcing, it allocates them 100% to that day/task.
One way is to Right click on the Task and choose Assign Resources.
(Other way is to click on View tab and click "Details")
In this box you can adjust the "Units" of that person to 20%
If you do this method, you can use that person on 5 tasks.
It does mean you have to adjust all previous conflicting allocations to 20%.
Does that give you a work around to the problem?
Kind regards
