Pages and page numbering

I have a document tenplate I am trying to modfy. I had deleted some information that was set up in a table. This has taken the document from 3 pages to 2 pages. However the third page is still present (albeit blank). How can I remove this blank page. Also, in the footer I need the page numbering to change from 2 of 2 as opposed to 2 of 3. Assume this will auto update once I manage to delete the blank third page. Thanks,

Neil.

RE: Pages and page numbering

Hi Neil,

Thank you for your question regarding the removal of blank pages and page numbering.
I think the following will solve your problem.

Open the document and press CTRL + SHIFT + *. This will allow you to see all hidden formatting symbols.
You will probably notice that there are symbols even on the third page. This is in fact the reason why there is a third page. So, delete the symbols like you would normal text and you will find the third page no longer exists and that the page numbering reflects that.

Hope this helps.

Word tip:

Find out all Word's shortcut keys

Want to learn more Word shortcut keys?

Here's how to you can find more shortcut key combinations:

1. Look up shortcuts in Help - this should bring up a link to the Keyboard Shortcuts topic.

2. Word has a built-in macro that you can run which will produce a list of all Word's shortcut keys that you can then print.

To access the macro, go to Tools - Macro - Macros. Use the dropdown arrow next to Macros in: to select Word commands.

Scroll down the list under Macro names and select ListCommands, then click Run.

Click OK. A document listing shortcut keys should be generated for you, which you can print for future reference.
