would I have to record separate macro for using goal seek on a range of figures running over several years

Hi Eva,
Running a single macro that goes in an out of goalseek should work. Remember that your 'changing cells' should be constants and not formulas or functions. Also, as we discussed, I would investigate scenarios for this as you might find them easier to manage!
