I am working in a template which has a number of styles including headings. There are 3 separate heading styles created within this template. The reason for that is that they are different font sizes. I have been asked to add numbering to the styles, at the moment we are manually numbering each heading. An example of the headings follows:
1. Heading 1 (Style 1)
1.1 Heading 2 (Style 2)
1.1.1 Heading 3 (Style 3)
How can I set up these styles so that the subnumber headings run sequently throughout the document?
Hope my question is clear.
Regards
Carmel
Hi Carmela
Thank you for your question - I'm pretty sure I understand what you're after.
What you need to do is modify Heading 1 style - if you go to Format - Numbering when in the Modify Styles box, then select the Outline Numbered tab. Choose the option that shows the numbering next to each of the heading style in the preview (2nd from the left in the bottom row). Then click OK and OK, then you should have outline numbering applied to all heading styles.
I hope this helps.
