Bullet points

Sometimes when I have inserted bullet points, my text does not return to its previous position and I have to manually alter the alignment back to its previous position.

RE: Bullet points

Hi Polly,

Thank you for your question.

Can i check a couple of things with you.

Do you mean after you press enter at the end of the bullet text?

Regards

Simon

RE: Bullet points

Yes sorry, after I hit return.

RE: Bullet points

Hi Polly,

Thank you for your repsonse.

The first thing to check would be the Bullet formatting options under Format Bullets and Numbering and check the Indent settings.

Could you please provide some more detail following the guidelines below:

So you add a bullet point, add the text and when you press enter to add a second bullet the bullets and text don't align with the previous line?

Alternatively, do you mean as you continue typing a line of text next to a bullet as the text flows onto the next line it doesn't line up with the first line of text?

Regards

Simon

RE: Bullet points

So after I have finished typing the bullet points, I hit return twice and the bullet point disappears but the text is still in line with the bullet point and does not return to its position previous to the bullet points.

I hope that makes sense.

Thanks

RE: Bullet points

Hi Polly,

Thank you for the reply.

Ok I understand now. Try checking the Format Bullets and Numbering option and look at the customise options for the bullet point you used and check the indents.

Check there is no style assigned to the text.

Then check in Format Paragraphs and check the indent options.

If none of these work could you please send me the file to

RE: Bullet points

Hi Polly,

Happy new year.

Have you resolved the problem?

The instructions I gave you were for 2003 so here are the things to check with 2007:

1. Home Tab and check whether any styles have been applied that makes the text behaviour change.

2. Page Layout tab - Check the left indent option and makes sure it is not at the same position as the Bullet text.

If none of this works send me the file to the address I included in my last email.

Regards

Simon
