Slide border

Hi there,

Is there a way to add a border to a whole slide? I know how to add borders to pictures or other objects, but can't work out how to apply one to a whole slide.

Thanks,

Cathy

RE: Slide border

Hello Cathy

Thank you for your question.

I think you would need to draw a rectangle, remove the fill and change the line colour around the shape if necessary.

You might find it useful to display gridline and/or the rulers on screen so that it is easier to see if the box is drawn so that it is equidistant from all edges of the slide.

If you wanted a border on multiple slides, I would suggest creating a slide master with the border so you can apply it to slides as many times as required.

Kind regards
Amanda

PowerPoint tip:

Animating charts imported from Excel

Once you have imported an Excel chart into a Powerpoint slide, it is possible to apply animation to individual components (e.g. each bar) of the chart.

Click on the imported Excel chart, then go to Draw - Ungroup on the Drawing toolbar (usually located at the bottom of the screen).

A message will appear warning that ungrouping will change the chart into a different type of object - click Yes, then go to Draw - Ungroup again.

You should now see the chart has been broken up into all its individual components.

Right-click on a component that you wish to apply animation to; then select Custom animation and apply animation using the task pane on the right of the screen.
