Why do some XLS files get, on occassion, quite large for no reason at all?
Hello Adam
Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.
Excel files don't normally get a lot bigger all of a sudden unless there is a reason for it, so this is a difficult question to answer.
One of the most commonly documented reasons for file size increase in 2007 version, is when files are saved in .xls format (97-2003 compatible) the file size tends to be larger than when saving as a .xlsx (2007 version) format.
Kind regards
Amanda
