Good morning,
I am ok with creating a simple flow chart using smart art but my problem comes when trying to create a more detailed flow chart with options.
In very simple terms for example, I want to add a box with a question in it, below this box will be another two boxes, one with yes in it and one with no.
I can add the first answer box by going to add shape and then after but if I try to add a second answer box below the first by using add shape and after, it adds a shape to the end of the flow chart rather than alongside the second answer box.
If I then try to drag the boxes and move shapes it throws the whole flow chart out of kilter?
Any ideas?
Kind Regards and thanks for all your help.
Daniel
Hello Daniel.
Thank you for your question.
SmartArt is great to a certain extent, but can be frustrating to work with in certain instances.
This might sound a bit 'old school', but I think for what you are trying to achieve it might be easier to use the Flowchart shapes (which used to be accessible through the Drawing toolbar in earlier versions of Word).
In Word 2007, go to Insert - Shapes, and Flowchart shapes and Connector shapes should be available there.
Kind regards
Amanda
