Thank you for your question.
A Parameter query is created to provide a User Input box to enter the criteria you are looking for.
If you create a query and instead of writing the criteria directly underneath the field heading, you type a prompt in a set of square brackets. When you run the query an Input box appears asking you to enter the criteria.
E.g. Under the County heading:
[Please enter the County you are looking for?]
