Shiona has attended:
Excel Introduction course
What is the difference between Count and Count A?
Dear Shiona
Thank you for attending Excel Introduction!! I hope you enjoyed the course and benefited from it.
The main diffrence between Count and CountA is that Count is used for counting Numerical data whereas CountA is used for counting Text.
It means that, for example, if you were trying to count cells where there were names of depts. Count Function will not work. You'll have to use the CountA function.
Please note that Count or CountA do not count the cells that are left blank!!
I hope this has answered your query.
If this has answered your query then I would request you to please mark the question as resolved!! If not and you have a specific question related to this then please post it as a new question and we should be able to provide you the solution for it!!
Kindest Regards
